Victorian Cottage

A chocolate box home, originally designed as a three bedroom detached Victorian cottage with rear scullery, outside bathroom and toilet. The property was designed by the Victorians with the front elevation very symmetrical, with the central front porch dividing equal sized windows and matching chimneys at either end of the building - just as a child would typically draw a house.

The challenge for Rostrum Building was to extend to the rear and one side of the house without taking anything away from that original symmetry. The resulting extension at the rear of the house is again designed with symmetrical gables, handmade bricks and genuine slate roof tiles, which blend beautifully with the original sections.

The house now boasts four generous double bedrooms, upstairs bathroom, an additional en-suite and large family focussed Chalon handmade kitchen with Aga, which is very much the hub of the home.
