Arts & Crafts
Original arts and crafts properties were a big rebellion against mass-produced, symmetrical architecture and décor. The focus then - and now – is on high quality, hand-crafted items, textures, designs and structures, as opposed to machine-made and mediocre. Simplicity is key but attention to detail is essential.
Rostrum Building can incorporate any number of arts and crafts features such as natural lime renders, timber framing, exposing key areas of the building’s fabric to explain the construction (e.g. wooden pegs in beams), and bare stone and brick. Our builders are also experts in stone-dressed window and door openings, steep pitched roofs, asymmetric rooflines, bow and multi-paned windows.
